Well hopefully, Serena takes it again this year, and it is a fine motivator to win the Open again!

Yep! $4.000,000 is quite a motivator.

Right now it looks like Serena has it on lock. It looks like there is no way anyone can catch her even if she falls today.

Serena has the benefit of "doubling" as she has played in three different tournaments.
So, she is virtually certain of winning USO series contest.

Just got confirmation per the WTA website

By virtue of her s/final win over Woznicacki,Serena has clinched the US Open Series Title, and will go for a record $4 million payout at the USO.

Well hopefully this gives her some confidence going into the US Open that despite not playing at her best she still beat everyone else in the Series.

So did Ana & Venus. All 4 played 3 weeks in a row. No one got as far as Serena in all 3 tourneys.

But they are not getting double points, Angie and Serena did! Why? I can't figure it out!!
Check for yourself here:
http://www.emiratesusopenseries.com/Standings/?intloc=headernav

May be the player actually has to score points in all 3 to get double bonus, since Ana and Venus did not score in one of the 3 they played at, it does not apply!!?
That's my best guess.

Serena winning the US Open series and the US Open in consecutive years for a total payout of $7.6 Milllion is a record that will be very difficult to beat. And I am not talking about the money.
