Let's see if Tipsy can avenge his 5 set loss against the energizer bunny from last year. I hope so! And I think he can pull it off.

Other than that I think ballpoint will make 6 games against the Spanish tennis bull(y). This to keep the match interesting for myself. Although I'll probably be sleeping, like most of the people inside Arthur Ashe.

Ferrer vs. Tipsarevic is the one to watch, but Gasquet vs. Raonic should be interesting. That entire quarter is open, especially if Ferrer loses.

Will be something to see whether the snout-nosed Raonic is able to keep Gasquet at bay in a best of 5.

(Hoping Tipsy makes it competitive against Farquaad)

It's a big ask for Tipsy these days, but I hope it's competitive.

Good to see you around, Denisovich! :)

This rain delay is very bad. If this rain continues, then the lower half might have to play back to back days to finish their 4th and quarterfinals matches. That's not good if you are one of the older guys.

no re-scheduling ideas as of now? would be about time, if it dries up, they really should put more of the courts to a good use. oh well, wouldn't be the USO if not for some weather drama, right?

well, while i was busy b-tching, they actually went out and did re-schedule!
Ivanovic-Azarenka is cancelled, so Rafa v Kohli might start on time; Fed moved to Louis Armstrong, starting after Penetta-Halep (not before 5 pm).

I updated our Schedule of Play/Scores page to reflect the current schedule, and court changes:

I'll keep updating it all day as things change.

and Penetta DFs, giving Halep the chance to tie at one set all, and (in case you wonder why i'm posting this in the wta section) a chance to make me miss the Federer match ;)

* wow, some talent i have today - as i complain, the world reacts - Pennetta breaks back, Halep disassembles in the TB.

meanwhile, Tipsy's struggling to hold serve early in the first set v Ferru.

I'm sure that Roger understands that he's the Day Session match, and the Day session has to be gotten over with, in fairness to the fans with Day tickets, and they don't want to start the night session late, if they don't have to, in fairness to those ticket holders.

i guess Federer is a bit annoyed after all about the rescheduling, because he didn't show up and sent Federror instead.

nah, he seems rusty, which is natural with the reschedule, and Robredo isn't really that sharp either yet.

I think Robredo was trying to take advantage of the sluggish start from Roger, but now the break back...I doubt Tommy gets a lot more looks after this. And Ferrer wins the first set TB. Tipsy played, overall, some of his nicest tennis in a good while in that first set. It's gotta be a big disappointment to lose it, after serving for it. And it's humid out there. Ferrer can probably just outlast him, at worst.

Just tuned in after Fed broke back, he seems to be hitting the ball really, REALLY well. As I said, him against Rafa will be more interesting than most believe.
