Why is it that this US Open every year always calls Serena on footfaults? This is becoming really ridiculous.

If you don't think they were foot faults then there might be a case, otherwise there is no conspiracy in enforcing the rules. My old favourite Stefan Edberg was always getting called on them.

I want to know why there were no replays on the foot-faults for everyone to see?

Serena foot faults more than most players. She pivots so that her left heel crosses the edge of the baseline. She should just start her service motion one inch further back.

Nicely pointed out, 10sfan. Also, I would say the USO may call more foot faults, overall, than other events. They seem to, anyway.

Lleyton Hewitt is another one. He can barely get through a match without a foot fault.

So what does this conspiracy accomplish exactly? That Serena hits, what, 3 more second serves per match?

Relax, the point is she got through it without losing her cool.

That is not the point the thing is they do this to her every damn year and it is becoming suspicious. Come on now it has to be something the all sit in a room and plan. It is truly outrageous.

You know what they want it to accomplish another meltdown so that they can blab about it for the next couple of months and fine her another $92,0000 so they can help build the roof for Ash stadium...

So they should just let her get away with it?
Not enforce it?

What's a "line" judge anyway? I think all they do is watch the lines...

This thread is not going anywhere special!

If this is your logic they should be calling it on every player so they can have a meltdown and get a fine. While $92,000 is no drop in the bucket, it's not even making a dent in the millions of dollars it will cost to put a roof on Ashe that Serena will likely never play under. The roof isn't coming until 2017, Serena will be retired by then.

And part of watching the lines is watching for foot faults.

Kiu - Where is it suppose to go? My point is I believe it's done intentionally and there's really no foot fault.

Are you kidding me which other player can afford a $92,000 fine?

Special, Serena is foot faulting. I wonder whether she is in denial about this, as are some of her fans. I cannot imagine any other reason why she does not serve one inch further back. Her coach should remind her if she forgets.

Anyone in the top 10 on both the women's and men's side can afford this fine.

I read something after the '09 incident that would raise

the question of conspiracy. In the '04 Cappy match it

sure reeked of something rotten in denmark when all those

Refs joined Alvez with all of those bad calls. It sure

looked like they just didn't want her to win that match.

Well Shot spot was instituted after that so bad calls

wouldn't work anymore. So here come footfaults which

are not covered by shot spot. The article I read had an

interesting stat. There were over 20 FF calls against

Serena and Venus in the tourny. By 2 refs. That is why

Serena got teed off. That last one was the straw that

broke the camels back
