The moral of the story is not to use dictionary based password combinations and make your password over 11 characters. I have 3 levels of password when visiting sites... one which is quick and easy and I wouldn't lose too much sleep over if it got cracked, one a bit more secure and two masters, one for online banking and the other for my Google account.

If I may add something, the use of capital letters and symbols increase largely your chance of survival (it is also mentioned on the article), as the universe of possibilities grows heavily with this. An odd number of characters also helps (given the way the breaking algorithms are written).

Important advice: never use the name of your favorite tennis player as password. But the one you root against is ok...
