Welcome @MashaFan , nice to see you here.  How many more tournaments do the girls have till the year-end tournament in Singapore?

I hope to see Petra and Flavia amongst the final 8, I think Ana is too far away from achieving this.

I am glad to see you here and may I also say that your avatar is very nice. :good:

Here are the four that are in:

Simona

Masha

Mugu

P3tra

------------------------

Almost in:

Angie

Aga

-----------------------

May be in:

Flavia

Carla

Venus

Karolina

Belinda

--------------------------------------

The main thing is, today only 380 points separate Angie from Karolina. Both are to play Moscow which is the last 470 points.

The math changes daily, it's difficult to reach conclusions yet, the reason is the 470 points coming next week in Kremlin.

Venus is not listed to play there, so there could be many scenarios.

One thing is for sure, as of today, Venus is occupying the 9th spot, if Venus makes the final in Hong Kong, she will pass Flavia and get to the 8th spot. A win in Hong Kong gives Venus another 100 points but then Aga is playing in Tianjin, so she could score more, Kerbie is in the race too, she is in Hong Kong semis...

I count a few ladies listed to play in Moscow though that may change, they have been steady withdrawing once qualified for WTA Finals, Aga may just do that if she wins Tianjin, Petra did it in Moscow soon as announced.

We will have a better picture next week.

There is an internet rumor Masha may not attend.

@kiuk @mashafan If Venus wins in Hong Kong is she in? or likely to be?
As far as I can see that question is academical now since Jelana Jankovic defeated her in the Hong Kong semifinals 46, 57  - I'm sorry britbox

I like Venus, but I'm not a diehard fan by any means - I'd root for Dominika, Masha, Caro and Ana before her, but I like to see her do well.

Aga is now officially in, 5 spots filled, 3 more spots left, this according to WTA.

Tomorrow, we should hear the news of Kerbie qualifying.

Venus is not going to Moscow, this is the last week for the ladies, Moscow and Luxembourg are the last events before Singapore(top 8) and Zhuhai(the rest). There are some events set for November after Zhuhai but all those and Luxembourg  are counted towards next season's points.

As for Venus, she is set for Zhuhai.
