We have two Canadians in French Open Quarter Finals, I like to know when was the last time this happened? But that's for later...

Milos Raonic

Two young stars with BRIGHT future!

Genie is 20, she is currently #16 on WTA tour and may rise after FO, she just scored her first title last week.

Milos is 23, he is ranked #9 in ATP tour, he may also rise after this FO.

Lets discuss Canadians, can they win a slam?

Good thread, Kiu. I don't know when the Canadians have featured so well in a Major. (I'm guessing never.)

Here's a little background on Canadian tennis from The Globe and Mail.

I think I heard it said, though not clear, that Raonic is the first Canadian man to make the QFs at RG. I don't like Raonic's chances of advancing further this tourney, though he might trouble Djokovic, as he did in Rome just 2 weeks ago. Bouchard v. Suarez Navarro is almost a toss-up. CSN is the more veteran and great on clay, but Genie is a tough competitor and has a height advantage.

And it will continue--straight up to number one or two in the next two to three years IMO. She has the skills and the temerity to challenge anyone on the other side of the court.

The rise of Canadians is now termed the March of Canadians.
They are coming alright!
