I suppose this thread could be put on the "Video Vault" board, but I think it certainly has to do with the "Current" events of the ATP Tour.

Before everyone blames Federer's age for this loss (DarthFed), hit the rewind button by 7 years and 5 months to February 2006. In their first hard-court encounter, Federer won the first set against Nadal, but then lost the second set 6-4 and the third set 6-4.

Some things have changed, and others haven't. Here's proof:

Hey brother,

He beat Roger on HC two years earlier than you think...

That is true. I'm just pointing out the similarity in the trajectory of the 2006 Dubai final to that of the 2013 Cincinnati quarterfinal - Federer takes the first set and is close to closing it out in 2, but Nadal holds him off and wins a tight 3-setter.

Yeah, he's great, isn't he?

In certain specific ways, yes. In others, not quite.

Forgive me for the cheesy choice of going to youtube, but you mentioned it on another thread, and I don't know how else to illustrate. Some examples of Rafa's shot making.

Note that's only Pt. 1.

Considering that his average 4-set match takes 3.5 hours or more, I would hope that he has some highlight reel points.

The guy wins a match 6-2, 6-3 and it often takes 2 hours.

I'm glad that the point at the 2007 Paris Masters against Youzhny was included in that video because it came just a couple days before Nalbandian taught Nadal a tennis lesson.

No excuses from his fans are acceptable there! Not after Moxie puts up a highlight boasting of his shotmaking from that tournament.

I had to post that, Cali, because when winners come off of Nadal's racquet it seems they are invisible to you. Perhaps you've got a filter on your cable. ;) Good attempt at a parry on your part by putting his highlights down to law-of-averages, btw. At least you've admitted there are some. :laydownlaughing

You still going on about that 2007 Paris Masters? That was 6 years ago. (And go ahead, bring up Madrid 2007, while you're at it.)
