Andy Murray just helped Great Britain achieve its first Davis Cup in 79 years.

He said his next goal is the Australian Open.

Do you believe in his chances there and at  any other slams in the next 2 years?

What does he have to do to capture a slam? What can he do?

You have the floor. Have at it.

Post away and have fun.

I want to take this opportunity to congratulate Andy, his entire team, and his entire family for this amazing achievement.

I know it means a lot to him, his brother, and their mom.

I am happy for them. Well done.

Big congrats to Andy, who almost single-handedly won the Davis Cup.

Yes, I think he will win another slam.

I like to see him or Federer take this next Wimbledon. if they can peak there and go on a run it is certainly possible. they have to believe and they have to get on a roll.

and how can they get on a roll there? preparation. very serious focus and very serious preparation.

so there you have it from my side anyway: both should have their chances there.

Muzza has already proved he can win slams with two and getting to the finals of others.  With Nadal and Federer declining he will get more chances not less. He'll win two or more slams at least.

Andy has to be ready when the opportunity presents itself.

he has to get more fit and more strong physically.

and he has to improve his serve.

finally he needs to become more adept and more confident at the net.

He really did basically win the DC on his own. A huge physical and emotional effort. These are the things that seem to spark him. For this reason, I think he'll be a big threat at the AO this year. #daviscupbump. #lendlwho? Solid chance that Andy finishes with 4 Majors.

He certainly is in the mix for another slam, but things will have to fall in line for him to do so. He has not convinced me that he can beat either Djokovic or Federer, but then you don't necessarily need to do that to win a slam

There is a rather substantial difference between facing David Goffin on clay and a rejuvenated Nadal, big hitting Wawrinka or the reigning champion of Oz, Djokovic. Murray has a long way to go before one uses the word "great" to describe him. :negative:

I agree with Federberg. He may have another slam hidden away in him, but only if things fall into place during the fortnight.

I consider Muuray to be Novaks biggest challenger next year. Could see him take Wimbledon again. Hope not.

Murray is gunning for the AO, by his own admission, and since he's been in 4 finals, so he's a potential threat before Wimbledon, though I agree he's the bigger threat there. If Nadal is really going to be resurgent, however, I think he is still the greatest threat to Novak, especially in the bigger moments. (French Open, particularly.)

Andy simply needs to be ready to strike when his opportunity comes.

go work on your serve andy. and also get a little stronger physically.

Murray's results seem to improve with the size of his mullet. Maybe he's like Samson - get's his strength from his hair.

Good to see you @Front242 hope all is well on the Emerald Isle.
