did anyone else know about this? Nadal, Fed, Sampras, Serena, Navs, Moody,... It's a pretty extensive list, with some remarkable coincidences -

People just need something to write. There is no curse here. Fed won his 13th at 2008
USO. He won his 14th at 2009 FO. That is just a one slam event gap. It is not that he
was struck at 13 for ages.

Well, in common for Rafa and Roger going for 14, is a Rafa injury. Other than this, sure I'm certain there's no connection with Pete... :snigger

I think you're right that folks just need something to write about. I went looking to see what happened after their 12 wins. First thing I found, and tell me if I'm counting wrong, that Navratilova's loss to Chrissie was after her 12th, not 13th, and she won the next:

And Chrissie may have missed the "curse" of 13, but it took her three to get to 12. It took both Pete and Roger 4 to get to 12. And Nadal 2. Proving only, I think, that it's hard to get that many Majors. And that, yes, some writer gets an article out of gaming numerology. :dodgy:

Exactly. And likewise Rafa. Pete was hardly cursed, either. I think I'll become a journalist, I can make up lies and sh1te like any man or woman can... :nono

I'm starting to believe in the curse of the unnamed player, whatever that is.

It's all the Knights of the Hard Table waiting for the Grail guy that's going to take down Sir Rafael on clay, since they can't. As with the Grail, he's still unfound, and, as yet, "unnamed." Could be a long wait.
