Youzhny hasn't gotten past the first round or two but once all year. Does anyone know what's going on with him, or is it just being 33 and declining?

I guess he should retire like old LLeyton, it's useless to carry on like that

Less attention being paid to this tourney, but these are all exciting results, IMO. All of the winners are pretty young and have a big up-side. Sousa is the "old man," at 26. The losers are journeymen, and it would have been rather boring, had they won.

Tomorrow, Thiem v. Carreño Busta could be interesting. Theim should win, but I hope C-B makes a good match of it. And Goffin v. Sousa could show what Goffin is made of.

Definitely a tournament to keep your eye on! Thiem is riding a hot streak and it'll be interesting to see how he does this weekend.

Also Bellucci and Goffin.
Very important win today for Goffin in a tight match against Sousa.
Goffin is defending this week 250 points for his win last year in Kitzbuhel, points which came off one week earlier.

Friday's Results!

Quarterfinals
(1) D Goffin (BEL) bt J Sousa (POR) (6) 6-7(7), 6-4, 7-6(1)
(2) F Lopez (ESP) bt S Giraldo (COL) (8) 7-6(4), 6-4
(3) D Thiem (AUT) bt P Carreno-Busta (ESP) (7) 6-4, 3-6, 6-2
(5) QFT Bellucci (BRA) bt P Andujar (ESP) (4) 3-6, 6-4, 6-1

A Goffin vs. Thiem final would be interesting. But we'll see if Deliciano can break that up.

Definitely pulling for Thiem tomorrow, especially since Bellucci beat the Beautiful Pablo Andujar. I'd like to root for Goffin, for the youngster final, but I'd like to see Lopez keep his late career surge going. (Sorry, McFly.)

Except that he has a neck like a giraffe. Fiero, we clearly have nothing in common, aesthetically. ;) :hug
