Gulbis is far too erratic to ever make top 8 but I'd actually love to see him at the WTF. I reckon he'd have major chances to be a spoiler to a few top players. Janowicz should likely make the WTF in the future and if he keeps on improving he could be deadly there. I believe this is the tournament where Jonas Bjorkman is making a once off comeback to try and win the doubles. Have to try and watch him play if I can. Quite a nice line up of players for this tournament except for Raonic who bores me to tears on these kind of surfaces. No return game and just serve. Absolutely awful to watch.

I wondered the same. I was looking for some comment about Soderling not back in the mix, (as everyone keeps speculating.) Bad draw for Raonic?

It is the reflection of my mood, when I am dealing with my new computer embellished with the pain in the ass Windows 8:D

In fact I had no idea that I added that emoticon, as I was clicking left and right in frustration over a frozen wiondow.

Really? But I was thinking about abandoning mac whenever I buy a new computer?! They are the most expensive, yet they nickel and dime you at every turn. And hey apple store, maybe I want a check out line. (Sorry off topic)

Has anyone spotted Johansson inth draw? He is Joachim, former number 9 in the world, inactive for the last 2 years, he came through qualifications, winning 3 matches.
He will play Falla in the R1.
:clap

EDIT: Johansson - Falla 6-1, 6-3

this is the tourney bjorn borg made his debut in 1971, age 15yrs,

its was a super 9 event back then (masters equivilant) Arthur ashe won title, rod laver played, and borg lost early to z franulovic who is now tourney director at monte carlo I think.

What a surprise to see Pim Pim back, I thought he had retired for good. He'll meet Raonic tonight

He does not even have a ranking, being listed as inactive.

Jerzy is up a double break in the first set against Garcia Lopez.

N

NADAL2005RG

The future is looking bright for Johansson, although he didn't win he had 40 winners and 19 unforced errors in a 3-6 6-7 scoreline vs high-ranked Raonic. I think Johansson can reverse that scoreline with a few more matches under his belt.
