Dust off that crystal ball. Bring out the inner astrologer in you.

Make specific predictions for 2016 Tennis Season. Free format. How many predictions you want to
make and about what you want to make is up to you. Just try to be specific though (i.e., It should be
possible to declare whether each one of your prediction came true or not, by end of 2016). No need to justify your predictions, but feel free to do so, if you want to justify.

Let us use just one post per user so that it is easy to see all predictions of a specific user in the
same place. But, you can keep modifying your predictions until the ball drops off in Times Square.

No prizes, Just bragging rights.

I think Djokovic will will at least two slams (Australian and French) and possibly one more. I also have a feeling that we're going to have another "surprise" slam winner like Cilic at 2014 US OPEN. Fed will probably win 1 or 2 Masters 1000, and Rafa might rally to win 1 or 2 Masters titles as well. Finally, if Nole is off his game or gets injured, I'd give Murray a shot at an additional slam.

^ So if you don't think Novak will win Wimbledon, who do you think will?

I also think Radek Stepanek may say goodbye next year. He's been on tour for years and was always a pretty tough opponent and entertaining to watch. Great volleying skills. That last injury really set him back a lot and I'm not sure he or Haas will be able to challenge the top dogs much next year given how long their rankings dropped for being off due to injury. Will miss both when they're gone but to be honest it seems they're gone already.

Rad the Impaler.

When he retires, the WTA will heave a collective sigh of relief...

The worm will be back in action. He has entered Brisbane using Protected Rankings. Brisbane's entry list was released today.

All I can say, Kirijax, is...ballsy.

That said, how does Roger end up #6 with Wimbledon and Rafa #3 with no Slams? I know other points add up, but still...

French Open runner up for Nadal, Federer focuses everything on Wimbledon and the Olympics, succeeds at Wimbledon and fails in Rio, slowly descends from there.

OK, it is definitely plausible. I'm wondering if Rafa has a whole year of consistency in him.

Anyhow, some similarities to my predictions in the other thread. It sounds like you and I are both craving a bit of a shake up. I'm guessing, though, that there will be less change than we hope.

Definitely ready for a shakeup. But I think Djokovic will continue his dominance till the end of 2017, Murray will stay where he is level-wise (maybe grab a slam or two), Nadal just might actually comeback and grab one last French (ugh), but I think Federer peaked this season and he'll gradually start sliding down. But I would like to see him grab the one last Wimbledon. That would be fun to watch. Really want to keep my eyes on the American youngsters next year and see which of them will start making some headway on the tour.

Federer wins Melbourne, then takes the French, Novak stops him in London and Stan takes New York. Rafa wins at least one Masters on clay and loses finals in Indian wells and Miami. Murray is runner up in two majors. I base the AO prediction on something befalling Novak before the final.

I am making just one specific prediction for 2016 (before the first ball of the first ATP tourney
main draw match is struck).

Federer will win at least one BIG title ( i.e., a GS or WTF or Olympic Singles Gold). No, mixed doubles Olympics Gold does not count as a BIG title.

-Novak Djokovic wins the Australian Open and French Open but falls short at the Olympics because of best of 3 format. Of course he finishes the year at no. 1.
-Roger Federer does not win a major or the singles gold, but does win gold in the mixed with Hingis.
-Two Masters events are won by players not named Djokovic, Federer, Murray, Nadal, or Wawrinka.
-Borna Coric ends the year in the top 12.
-Croatia wins the Davis Cup, defeating Italy in the final, which is played on carpet in Split.
-John Isner makes the quarters of a major.
-Jack Sock wins a title and makes the quarters of a major.
-Sam Querrey falls outside the top 100.
-Taylor Fritz ends the year in the top 100 and records 6 ATP main draw wins, 2 at the US Open.
-Stan Wawrinka wins his 3rd major.
-Age finally catches up with David Ferrer and he finishes the year outside the top 10.
-Kyle Edmund makes the top 50 and reaches the 4th round at Wimbledon.
