Sergiy Stakhovsky has jumped into some hot water head first with his comments about gays on tour.

And yet I have my doubts…

This isn’t about a specific person – I can’t judge or support him – but about the general picture.
You see, on the ATP – we have a normal atmosphere. If there was anything, we’d know about it, because it’s a very closed circle. Earlier there used to be talk about Gasquet, about Nadal. Even about Federer. I won’t sacrifice my hand for the whole tour and the new guys, who are just joining, but in the backbone of the top-100 there are definitely no gays.

Martina Navratilova, for example, thinks differently.
She can think that in the women’s locker room. She has no clue at all what men’s tennis is. And she’s has nothing to do with it [men’s tennis]. On the WTA tour, almost every other player is a lesbian. Can you imagine – half of them! So I for sure won’t send my daughter to play tennis.

It's not exactly shocking from Stakhovsky. From what I've seen the ex Soviet countries are generally a couple of decades behind in social attitudes. I'm not sure it requires further action. It's a shame there isn't any out atp player to comment, but freedom of speech should be respected.

Even if IVF was used, that doesn't mean Roger's gay. It could simply mean there were conception problems which IVF resolved, not that Mirka is his beard.

Most likely no IVF and just hereditary. Twins run in Roger's family. His older sister has twins too. Seems his rocket launchers are just as good as his tennis :snicker

That's interesting GSM. I knew that it's established scientific fact for male homosexuality. I didn't realise that the same had been established for lesbians. It doesn't matter of course. As far as I'm concerned people should be free to live their lives the way they want to even if it's not genetically preordained. No one elses business!

It's more likely that he was rejected by some ATP players. People (politicians, priests, etc) who have a problem with gays nearly always turn out to be gay themselves.
