Ever since she burst onto the scene as a precociously talented teenager, Serena Williams has been a firm favorite with the public.
Her accomplishments, which have included 17 Grand Slams and four Olympic gold medals, have only strengthened this relationship, while also bringing her countless awards.
More could soon follow after she was unveiled as a multiple nominee for the inaugural Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Sports awards. Among those competing with her in the Best Female Athlete category will be Gabby Douglas, Gracie Gold and Lindsey Vonn.
Williams is also up for the Queen of Swag, Biggest Cannon and, along with her sister Venus, Superstar Siblings awards, while WTA rivals Sloane Stephens and Maria Sharapova have also been nominated. Voting opens on June 12 and the winners will be revealed at the live show on June 17.
