Statement from Sam Stosur

After six years working together my coach David Taylor and I have decided to part ways.

We’ve had a tremendous working relationship and I owe so much of my success to Dave’s hard work and enduring support.

Dave and I started working together during my comeback from Lyme disease, one of the most challenging times of my life. His dedication during the many highs and lows of my career has been unwavering both on and off the court.

I wish Dave all the very best for the future.

During the US Open I’ll be working with the Tennis Australia team, including Fed Cup captain Alicia Molik, and I’ll start thinking about longer term options after New York.

Given Stosur's age and track record, has she peaked in what she can accomplish on the tennis court? Is there a coach out there who is able to break through her mental barriers that prevents her from putting together back-to-back tournament wins?

I don't understand how these players can dissolve their coaching relationships before a major and expect to have any success there. They can't wait 2 more weeks? In a slam there is no on-court coaching and you have to gameplan off court w/ your staff to thwart your opponent.

There is a rumour going around that Stosur has hired Peter Carlsson a former coach of Robin
Soderling.if that is the case it would be after the USO.So far there hasnt been any confirmation from
Stosur she has hired Carlsson.

In other major coaching news, Sam Stosur has split with Dave Taylor. She’ll work with former player Alicia Molik in the interim.
