As far as I know, the two things missing from Rogah's resume is:

Olympic Gold (Singles)

Monte Carlo Masters

Rome Masters

Queens Club

what else?

(Sorry, I'm just bitter after yet another finals loss to Novak).

Honestly, I don't think he is missing anything that he would lose sleep over. But as fans, we feel he has to have at least one of everything and I don't know if that is realistic .

Actually, I did not come to from that angle...like.."oh, it would have been nice to have a complete resume"...but more so just as a matter of record.

I PROMISE he would not give up any of his slams for the Gold.

And with all due respect to Monte Carlo and Rome, he played his Co-Jones off at both losing to Nadal
in a bunch of wars.

I think one that would have REALLY bugged him would have been the French.

Seriously. Since when did Queens, a mere ATP 500 (which was a mere ATP 250 until 2014) became important. Further, it is not that Roger tried to win Queens and did not win. He plays in Halle in the
same week. Unless, you violate the laws of physics, not to mention ATP rules, it is impossible to win Queens and Halle. :cover

There is a distinct prestige to wining Queens Club. Many, many past Wimbledon champions have won there. Too many to mention.

Rog plays Halle mostly for tax reasons. He has a life time contract there and gets significant appearance money.

Only big thing that might bother him slightly is not having a Singles Gold. I doubt he cares too much about not winning Monte Carlo or Rome as he's skipped the former many times.

Yeh..I think losing to Blake at the 2008 games is probably a match he may actually still think about.

Queens is irrelevant. As GSM says, if he wanted to win Queens, he would have actually played it.

I doubt Roger will lose a single nights sleep when his career is over, thinking about anything he might have missed...

Agree. But as I stated, just objectively looking at the record, he did not win it.

I have no doubt as well he will lose no sleep. Unless he has more kids. :p

Ah there will definitely be quite a few matches he'll regret alright when he had match points only to lose. I'm sure any proud athlete would be the same.

True enough, he has lost more big matches up match point than the rest of the big 4 combines.
Two US Opens semis were very painful to watch.

Well if he does not lose sleep over those matches..I will..:dodgy:

In the end if you can't go back and change it...regrets serve no purpose.

When i saw the thread title i thought it was going to be about what's missing for fed to win some big titles.

my answer to that woudl be: stronger metality in the clutch, and more faster courts!

Roger's backhand is actually very good these days. Players who keep hitting to his backhand now are wasting their time. He makes shanks on both wings :snicker

Very true. He makes equal opportunity errors. In some matches, he even makes more FH UFE than BH UFE.

Roger seems to be holding good on a lengthy cross court BH Rally. But, when there is a change to FH side after such a lengthy rally and then an immediate change to BH side, he seems to be failing.

Way more. His forehand which was once the most feared shot in tennis is now pretty weak and he hits more shanks on average off the forehand I reckon. Roddick too had an awesome forehand in his heyday but people with limited memory spans only sadly tend to remember the Roddick in his last few years on tour when his forehand, much like Roger's is now, was absolutely nothing compared to in his prime.

It's kinda normal, that as players get older, they become more nervous, and shanks creep in to their game. Navratilova said that back in the day. It didn't make sense to me then, because I thought their experience would make them calmer - then I started to get older myself! :snicker

^ Excellent point. J-Mac said pretty much the same thing. I dismissed it the first time he said it because, well, it's J-Mac and he often says things for shock value. However, what he said about older players feeling the pressure more in the big moments is definitely playing out with Roger and it seems Rafa as well.
