Genie took a WC and was the #1 seed. She goes down again in the 1R to Shvedova 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 after leading 4-0 in the final set :cover

This Bouchard show is getting to be a disaster of Titanic size. It's all mental at this point. Looks like she is going to take a HUGE dive down the rankings unless she makes a complete turnaround. Sad to see.

Maybe the WTA should be marketing Giorgi rather than Bouchard. Giorgi has mechanically sound strokes unlike Bouchard. If only her dad did not give her such a risky game. She can beat anyone and lose to anyone. An Italian who excels on grass more than on clay. How weird is that?

Her game is made for the grass and FHC. Those hard flat shots penetrate the court. She needs to work on her serve some and she could be top 15 easily. Also, her mother is a designer and makes all her tennis outfits.

Bouchard deserved all the attention she got last year. She did excel in the majors, but she hasn't done anything since Wimby (almost a year later) so I don't understand why she is still getting all these endorsements and acknowledgements as the most marketable player.
