Coric is having a tough go in his opening round against De Bakker. I think it went to 9-9 in the first set tiebreaker. I thought De Bakker would fold after losing that set, but got out to two break lead in the second. :popcorn

Borna won it, barely. I haven't watched but you do not know the whole story. I saw on twitter that Thiemo had 10 set points !!! in the first set, none of them he was able to convert.
In the last set there was another game which took forever, game which ended with Thiemo broken.
Both committed tons of UE.

Chung pulls through and defeats in a tough 3 setter GG Lopez. Good job.

Popsicle did not play well, especially in the second set, but Zverev was impressive today. The guy has
good all court skills, and, from what I've seen, he has a good tennis IQ too. Do people think he is the most promising teenager?

He's 6'6" tall, so there's always the concern about avoiding injury. If he can add some muscle mass to his frame and remain healthy, he could be formidable.

Kuznetsov gave Troicki a battle. I tried to find a stream for it, but was unable.

Too soon to say, but he seems to me to have the best chance of being a top 10 player of any teenager, followed by Coric and Kyrgios. I'm also curious about Tiafoe, Rublev, Fritz, Chung and Donaldson.

Troicki is out there hitting against Chung. Just took the first set a couple of minutes ago. Haven't gotten to see Chung play much, but he has a good ground game and a pretty good "IQ". Troicki is trying to hit him off the court, but the young man is hanging in there well.

I would pick Zverev to be top five, possibly number one, if he stays healthy. I am not impressed with Tiafoe. Chung could be top twenty which would make him the best player in Korean history. I wonder when his career will get disrupted by having to serve in the military. Coric will have a tough time, given his lack of raw power, and his FH is not reliable.

Both power and FH reliability can be developed. He's only 19 in an era when 19 is the new 17. Some added power and an improved forehand and he could be a top 5 player in a couple years.

I will take that bet. I predict Coric will not be top five before he turns 22.
