Glad to see Serena through the score is deceptive though as I feel Serena was pretty lackluster in her play. Good thing it was on a day her opponent was pretty uninspired as well.

Sometimes you play what is needed depending on the opponent, and I think Serena did that today. She'll go hit the training later today.

Serena's fine. In a week, she'll be holding the trophy.

I know she will be fine, but this is usually the area where Serena tenses up when it comes to the French. All it takes is one moment of lackluster play to give a player hope.

Sunday,

You're looking to much into nothing. Serena is fine. Not every match is going to be the most superlative display.

It was about time to end this match - not closing the match convincingly Masha is at least through to R3 after she defeated Eugenie Bouchard 62, 64
Zheng Jie next :)

Calvy is right. Why expend more energy than needed to win? In Serena's current form, I cannot imagine how anyone except Petra can win a set. Barring injury, she will be holding the trophy (probably standing next to a crest-fallen Pova)

Eugenie must stop wearing pova clothes if she really wants to chart her own course, she is obviously being ill advised by McAllister.Madison is also being made to wear pova clothes by her agent...

Great to see Schiavone won her match. Sabine gets bagelled by Errani. She needs a head transplant to start playing to her potential.

Varvara can upset Kerber. Let's go, Lepchenko!

So you think wearing a different outfit was going to change the outcome of those matches?

As far as I know she wore Nike clothes. It seems to me that if a tennis player chooses to wear clothes which Maria has worn on some occasion, like for example the skirt, it is none of your business. Besides I can not see what the choice of clothes has anything to do with a tennis player's success on court. Are you saying Eugenie would have done better if she's worn former Serena outfits? :laydownlaughing

tumblr_mniz20QMdB1qde3bwo1_500.png

Cute Eugenie Bouchard in her Nike top :p

Whoa!!! Sabine was bageled by Sara Errani who defeated her 06, 46. Sabine should play way by better by now. Maybe she'll surprise us @ Wimbledon

Maria Sharapova finally could finish her rain delayed and suspended R2 match from yesterday and she defeated Eugenie Bouchard (CAN) 62, 64 today

Serena Williams has reached R4 after she defeated Sorana Cristea 60, 62

It was a tough match for Marion but she pulled through. Well done! I felt a little sorry for Mariana Duque-Marino (COL) who fought so hard but that's tennis.

Schiavone is also through to R3. She defeated Kirsten Flipkens (BEL) 61, 46, 63
I had actually had thought that Kirsten would win. Well done Francesca!!

Maria Kirilenko also pulled through against the alleged Aussie wonder child Asleigh Barty 63, 61

Kaia Kanepi went down and lost to Stefanie Voegele (SUI) 67, 63, 68. I had not the pleasure to see the match but to doubt by the set results it must have been a tough match

There are still some interesting matches left, like :
Virginie Razzano (FRA) vs. Ana Ivanovic (SRB) [14] (ongoing)
Agnieszka Radwanska (POL) [4] vs. Dinah Pfizenmaier (GER)
Varvara Lepchenko (USA) [29] vs. Angelique Kerber (GER) [8] (ongoing)
Bojana Jovanovski (SRB) vs. Svetlana Kuznetsova (RUS)

BTW I'm sorry that Caroline Wozniacki is out. I assume that hoergren won't be around anymore?

Well there could be other reasons for not participating. Just have to find out if I want to continue in this forum in this form - and that's enterily my problem. Hope your babes are winning. Maybe I return.

it will give her her own identity:pand not appear as a self confessed pova fan...the idea is to win matches not to appear to be too respectful of your idol. This is a job and your livelihood not a sorority.

Vika wears Serena's Nike line at times, Lepchenko and Petrova have worn Venus' line. They don't seem to be struggling w/ their identities.
