Does anyone see Rezai as a potential upset to Kvitova?

I agree. Rezai used to be a formable player and could pose a real threat to Petra if she is not on her game.

Everyone is a potential threat to Petra because she can beat herself regardless of her opponent. I am hoping for, but not expecting, a Pova vs Petra quarter final.

Rezai is just as hit or miss as Petra, so we will see who misses the most tomorrow. Or will we? Supposed to be nasty weather tomorrow. Back log probably.

Petra is uneven right now. On paper Rezai should not pose a problem, but Petra makes really bad players look really good at times.

Petra should win over Rezai though these days 'which Petra' will turn up on court is anyone's guess.
I am also looking forward to watching Jankovic playing Hantuchova.

Are you developing a sort of Big Brother forum - telling us how we are going to make threads? I think I'm a bit frustrated over what you are doing Tented. If you want to say how we shall make a thread and what we can bring then let me know and I'll see if i want to be part of this anymore. I think you were spoiling a good thread abot the first 4 rounds of FO with a lame reason - shame on you.

Unlike the previous sites, on this one we're linking some (not all) of the message board threads directly to the homepage. This way, people who come to the homepage not only can read a news item about the day's order of play and scores, but also be linked directly to a thread in the message forum in order to discuss it. This kind of organization requires a level of coordination which hasn't been previously required.

Do not mistake this for some kind of censorship, which you seem to be implying by "and what we can bring." At no point was anything mentioned in terms of what you can or cannot discuss, so I don't know where you're getting that idea from.

The only change which has truly occurred is having separate threads for each day. That's it. It's really that simple.

Did anyone see Bartoli beat Govortsova? Gutted by the result. Govortsova is a much better player, had two match points but Bartoli never gives up. Credits to the fighting spirit. Can't warm up to her though.

I actually totally agree with hoergren. There was no reason to close the last thread. The point of a message board is to let a conversation move organically where it will. A conversation closed based on day or discretion of the moderator (without due cause because of bad behavior) is a disruption to organic conversation. Many of us like the long rambling conversation and link backs to previous comments.

From here on out, threads will not be closed. Note, for example, that the threads for Days 1 & 2 are still open. If you wish to continue posting on them, you can.

I actually don't mind the posting it by order of play. It is so much easier to focus on the matches of those days rather than sift through posts that were dealing with matches that already happened when I want to talk about the most current matches. In other words, I would much rather be able to talk about the Victoria Azarenka match that will happen on Day 4 in one thread rather than sift through potential Serena match commentary that happened on Sunday in that one thread. I understand the logic for it.

RE: Roland Garros Order Of Play - Day 3

I wonder what this new order means? Are we ourselves unable to start new threads anymore or what? Half the fun was to be able to do that
I've tried to understand what caused all of these changes but I'm afraid that tented hasn't been able to explain it clearly. No offense tented
I've no idea what this comment about "linked to the homepage" means and why it was necessary to close the original thread. Why couldn't it wait until the QF for example? Also is this a temporary thing for the French Open only or what?

I also think that some notification some days in advance would have been good manner and not just close an on going thread and put us members in a position without a say in the matter. No offense but I find it very insensitive and a little dictatorial

RE: Roland Garros Order Of Play - Day 3

On the homepage, we have a News category in which we're providing daily pieces about the order of play and scores.

Homepage: http://www.tennisfrontier.com [See "Latest News" to the right of the main picture frame.]

News: http://www.tennisfrontier.com/category/news/

At the bottom of each News item, there are links to the threads in the ATP & WTA forums which correspond to those days. For example:

Day 2: http://www.tennisfrontier.com/news/atp-tennis/roland-garrosfrench-open-day-2-may-27-order-of-play-scores/

Day 3: http://www.tennisfrontier.com/news/atp-tennis/roland-garrosfrench-open-day-3-may-28-order-of-play/

Day 4: http://www.tennisfrontier.com/news/atp-tennis/roland-garrosfrench-open-day-4-may-29-order-of-play/

As Sundaymorningguy astutely pointed out, this keeps the conversation on topic about each day, instead of having to navigate your way through a discussion about a match two days ago, on the same thread where you're trying to discuss something happening today.

It's exactly the same in the ATP Forum. The WTA Forum is not being singled out, or treated differently. As I mentioned before, the threads for previous days are being kept open. If you still wish to discuss something from yesterday, or the day before, etc. the threads for those days are still open, so feel free to continue using them.

If you have any additional questions, please send me a PM.

Thanks! :)

Just to follow up what tented posted above... There is no big brother approach to threads. You can start threads and respond to threads as you wish. All we are asking for is that threads created are not duplicates of existing threads - and that applies to threads created by other posters, not only mods.

For example, when tented is adding a news article (i.e. An order of play or any news article for that matter), he will check to see if a thread already exists.

If it does then he links the news article to it. If it doesn't he creates one.

The site isn't just the discussion forum - we are building a social media following also and it gives them a nice flow in reading an article and then clicking through to view the comments made. Hopefully, that is beginning to translate to new users signing up and contributing to the discussion.

I understand your view on closing the the earlier thread, but don't think that will be an issue going forward.

Also the tennis channel has a new app you can download to a phone or tablet called Tennis Channel Everywhere. If you download that and use it when you are connected to wireless, you can get a live stream from the main show courts (Chatrier, Lenglen, Court 1 etc.)
