RE: Roland Garros Order Of Play - Day 2

Li is through. It was quite a battle though, but happy she made it in two sets. What on earth was going on with that call on 30-40 at 4-4? Linesman calling it out, Li calling it out, umpire calling it in, but then changing her mind because Medina calls it out too (and Medina changing her mind after that)? Really strange.

Did you get what it was about? I had the impression the umpire made a mistake calling it in, realised this and then looked for reason to call it out again.

The linesperson called it out. The umpire called it in, but realizes she was wrong and then decides that Medina made a noise so she called a hindrance on Medina and awarded the point to Li. It was Li's point anyway because the ball was out, it's just the way the umpire handled it. At the end, Medina didn't shake the umpire's hand.

Yeah, I thought it was out too for sure. I understand Medina's frustration though, poor way of correcting a mistake by yourself.

I'm happy that Masha had such a great opening match even if she had to change court and the match started way later as planned - Next will be the Canadian and #77 ranked Eugenie Bouchard
Good luck Masha!! :clap
