Interesting matches for me....

Kuznetsova v Giorgi.....hopefully my Sveta will win this match.

Ivanovic v Svitlona...Elina is one of my favourite youngsters.....though Ana will be too strong.

Stephens v Hercog....I dont think this will be a walk in the park for Sloane.Still I was encouraged by Stephens first match win.

Interesting to me, as mentioned above plus:

Jelena Jankovic (SRB) (6) vs. Kurumi Nara (JPN)

Simona Halep (ROU) (4) vs. Heather Watson (GBR)

Ekaterina Makarova (RUS) (22) vs. Coco Vandeweghe (USA)

(Court 17)
Women’s Doubles – Round 1
Martina Hingis (SUI) / Sabine Lisicki (GER) vs. Jarmila Gajdosova (AUS) / Janette Husarova (SVK)

Sabine retired with wrist injury Wednesday, lets see if she plays.

Good to see Jelena moving on into the third round!

So if the seeding holds and it probably won't;

R3 Cirstea
R4 Errani
QF Pavlyuchenkova
SF Halep
F Sharapova

Hard road ahead but with Serena and Li Na out already anything is possible!

I thought Jankovic played too defensive in the 1st set....then found her groove to bagel her opponent in the 2nd set.

A.Palyuchenkova retired in her match against K.Bertens....unsure of the reason at this point in time

K.Bertens 57 64 30....wins due to retirement.

^ Reason for the retirement from Pavlyuchenkova lower back injury.

On a good day, Lucie Safarova can beat anyone. Looks like she is headed for a showdown with Ana (I love both of them) - it would make me incredibly happy if after how close Lucie gets time after time, she finally has a breakthrough here. I'm still in anguish over that lost match point against Li at Australia.

Did not see it mentioned anywhere, but Hingis/Lisicki are out of doubles. They have been replaced with the Pliskova sisters

Not surprising Sabine had a wrist injury in her singles match yesterday.Sad to see.I hope Sabine will be okay for the grass season...where she shines.

^ unless she falls AGAIN and hurts something else. She needs to go get a rabbit's foot or something.

Kvitova in straight sets. I'm afraid to give my heart to her, she might hurt me. ;)
In fact it's guaranteed :(

Look away, Golds girl, look away. Take someone safe like Sharapova, or Serena at Wimbledon, or Vika on hardcourts (if she ever comes back). Not Petra. She's only teasing you. She wants to draw you in to the fire, and you know when you get too close she will only burn you again. She always does.

:)

I was sorry Camila lost, but it is nice seeing Kuznetsova doing some winning again! I love Ana winning. Lucie also is a fav. I just have too many favorites and yes I have been told I can't have more than "one" favorite, but I do!
