You may remember that you found shocking when I said that Fed probably doesn't run less than alleged roadrunner Nadal. Back then my impression was based on the stats that I saw on tv and which I couldn't show to you. This time you can see the stats by yourself looking at Wimbledon website.

https://www.wimbledon.com/en_GB/draws/index.html?event=MS

If you go to Wimbledon website and check the match stats in the Gentlemen's draw, you'll see that Federer ran more than his opponents in each his matches except 1st & 3rd.

Similar is for Nadal except that in their semifinal match Federer ran more.

As opposed to two of them, Novak ran less than his opponent in every match at Wimbledon this year.

Ah yes, this data, spanning over 2 weeks, is enough to make a conclusion about 2 careers that spanned 20 and 15 years respectively. Good thread. Keep up the good work.

The problem with data is that it usually means something completely different from what people think it means. The only relevant data for this conversation is average distance ran per point (EDIT: what we have in BB's reply), but still we need to gauge in the opponent. I am pretty sure anyfuckingone playing Karlovic will run less than anyone playing Diego Schwartzmann.

The data I put in the reply was Avg Distance Covered Per Point.

Yeah, but I was thinking about something to post on the bracket thread and I missed that.

You couldn't provide us with better data, so you decided to provide us with cynicism.

Yet, Novak ran less than any of his opponents, while it was rather opposite with the other two.

I could provide a literal bowl of shit that would be more relevant and less misleading than this thread.

Funny people keep pointing out that Roger often covers more ground than his opponents. Think that has anything to do with the fact he gets more cheap points on his serve and therefore most of the rallies in the match come on his opponent's serve, oftentimes from less than neutral positions?

Very well spot.
