You may have loved him as a villain, or from Harry Potter, or just generally for the great actor he was.  In any case, certainly for his voice.  I got to see him on Broadway, too.  What a loss, and what a week, thb.

i too was saddened by his passing - he seemed to be hitting stride in his late years - not just from the HARRY POTTER...and although i wish i had seen more of his films - the harry potter alone showed what a fine actor he indeed was.

one of the very nice smallish films he made was a true story based account of early 1990`s - i believe california WINE maker - who had disappointment after disappointment including on his rather irresponsible son...but then they finally came up with a glorious wine - that WON the very prestigious french awards that the snooty alan rickman character set up

after accidentally discovering this unknown american grown wine...

i forget what the name of the movie was -- but i highoy recommend it to show rickman`s different side.

his ``death`` in the harry potter was truly moving , i thought. .
