I've never seen such jealousy. Were people like this when Chrissy, Graff, Martina and Seles were winning everything too. This is truly unreal - they so want Serena to get out of tennis that it is always reveal in their hidden comments. I mean even one poster here in a thread claims that Serena was an underachiver because she should have been at #1 longer. Can you believe that..after all this woman has achieve it's still not enough for these folks.
If you are going to cite me, at least do so directly courageously. I was the one who
said she should have been #1 for a longer period. However, you are twisting my words.
I never said she is "underachiever" in comparison to others. I said that IMHO, she
probably achieved less in comparison to what she probably could have achieved
given her talent level. So, please do not take a particular phrase and project it
out of context.
I knew someone said it but I really do not keep people's handles in mind so I had no idea it was you and that is why I said someone.
I am not so much concerned that you left out my handle. I am concerned that you are
picking some words ("underachiever") totally out of context. For the benefit of the rest,
I am citing the whole context below.

Leads me to think, if she were serious she could have spent 5 years there easily.

Who are you talking about?

of course, Serena.

Shaking my head....some people. The point is she has 18 slams and she has been #1 for over 209 weeks.....so put that in your pipe and smoke it.Puzzled

Sure, whatever she has already achieved is definitely great.
However, I am not talking about her in comparison to other players. I am talking about
her in comparison to her potential. It is my contention that she did not fully capitalize on
her potential.
You have to understand that what I am talking about is different. It is possible for
a player to fully take advantage of their talent and yet not to win a single grand slam.
