Uncle Toni says so: if Rafa hasn't improved by next season, and extra helping hand might be required.

Now, this will make the likes of Anti-Pusher happy, but to me, it's just good PR. Uncle T also says he thinks Rafa isn't far from getting his form back, echoing what Rafa himself said recently. By the way, I read about this elsewhere too, and among suggestions for the new coach were Pete Sampras. Now, I love Pete but I don't see him and Rafa being a good mix.

I think Pete would benefit Nick Kyrgios immensely, though. He'd get Nick to focus only on what's necessary. Pete and Nick are Greeks, but Pete is Classical Greece, blending the sound economic thought of Athens with the irrefutable martial qualities of Sparta. Nick, on the other hand, is modern Greece: unable to govern himself and in dire need of a bail-out...

Interesting. I'll believe it when I see it and honestly Kieran a little confused that he would wait until a busy 2016. The time to try out a new coach is now when the season is winding down and this isn't particularly your favorite surface.

Yeah, it's kinda like trying a new stick the week before the FO. There needs to be a walk-in period before they play tourneys. I don't think it'll happen, or if it does, it'll be a technician like the bloke who dickied with his serve and got him to change the technique to get more zoom on it. But a high-profile bloke seems unlikely, it isn't the Mallorcan's style...

Anything is better than the current status quo. It has been quite some time since we saw Nadal playing at a very high level, and if I were him, I would definitely risk it. How much worse can it get honestly?

Haha, Keiran you had me going there for a minute. I thought Nadal actually had a new coach! Maybe Uncle Toni is finally starting to get a clue about what needs to be done to help Nadal.

I meant to say: with his current skill set, game plan and form, he can't do much worse than this. I will be blunt with you, you are annoying everyone with these kinds of posts. I don't care how much you hate him or want him to lose, it's not going to affect him in any way. I know this because I root against your guy every match he ever plays. Sadly, I witnessed it only 5 times this season, but nothing lasts forever.

Nadal is not going to have a new coach, he just has to focus more in tennis, I think he has too many distractions doing many commercials, his new Tennis Academy and etc etc etc, It seems that he is looking more to his future than his present :(

Apart from helping him to win 14 slams? :popcorn

I think uncle T knows what to do. He doesn't need anyone else, just needs to keep at it. He's slow getting back to speed after last year's injury and appendix break, but that doesn't mean a new coach would necessarily speed him up. he already has the best coach in the business, what more could he want? ;)

As I said though, maybe a part-time technician to help with the serve again, that would ease his load...

Yeah, but herios is right: Pistol Pete changed coaches at the back end of his career, thinking it would create a fresh impetus: his results dived even more. He went back to his old coach Paul Annacone and won the US Open in 2002...

I don't think Rafa will ever have a primary coach other than uncle Toni. These two are joined at the hip, need a surgery to separate them.
