Monteiro is upset in R1 by Giovanni Lapentti, (ranked 642) who I did not hear about in ages.
I did not know he is still active, right now he is 34y old.

Are you thinking of his older brother Nicolas Lapentti, born in 1976? He is the one with a pretty nice career - a top 10 player at one point, with five titles and a SF appearance at the AO in 1999 (He lost to Thomas Enqvist).

No, I was not talking about Nicolas. I knew him and he has retired a long time ago.
Giovanni was never as good as his brother and but he represented many times his country in the DC along with his brother. I thought he also retired but seems like he did not.

Very impressed by Victor Estrella-Burgos, he makes the final here third time in a row. Just about when I was thinking that he is winding down.
He will play another veteran Lorenzi

Victor Estrella-Burgos defends his title and makes it 3 in a row
