Question about favorite players

A thought struck me: is anyone's favorite player not one of the Big Four? Clearly most people prefer one of Roger, Rafa, and Novak, with a few liking Andy best. But I can't think of a somewhat regular poster whose favorite is another player.

This makes me wonder: is there something about tennis, or at least this era, that leads everyone to prefer the very best? No Tsonga or Berdych superfans out there? Or maybe they are just less vocal? Or what about even Stan?

Any thoughts on this?

I am pretty sure we have a Giles Simon in the board, even if I cannot remember who (sorry). For long I also thought that Kirijax was a Berdych fan, but then somewhere down the road he said he was a Murray fan (and I thought it was impossible to get it worst!).

I would not be shocked if we find a del Potro fan (I know he is the second favorite for a lot of people).

Believe it or not there were probably a few Monfils admirers on this board but it's no way they will admit to it afterwards the crap he pulled at the Open or prior recent tournaments

Do not know about the board but my wife is a huge Stan fan. She does not care about anybody else.

All of his favorite are obscure-ish!

Delpo is a close second for me. I think part of is getting to a period where every tournament is dominated by 4 people. Even with Stan, that hasn't changed though...

Despite my username, delPo is actually my 2nd fav. I'm a Federer guy, but I like and appreciate the rest of the big 3. I think tennis has been super lucky to have so many talented guys who get it on and off court to represent their sport for such a long time.

For me its JoWillieTs when he is on his game.. Jo has such an amazing game and if he can EVER stay within himself for two solid weeks he may win a slam... Jo's Achilles heel is the Novaks, Murrays and Nadals of the tour who play a higher percentage tennis then he does. Cilic pulled through so there is hope for JoWillieTs:clap

My other non big 4 tennis players would be Cilic and Delpo (this year's form, regardless how 'crippled' the comeback is but Delpo mentality is stronger than ever ... Apart from his blazing forehand

Oops..I misread the topic..Heck no..Rafa is my top dawg..4ever..However I like what comes out of JowillieTs mouth ..Nothing..I don't always agree with what the king of clays says
