The Tournament

The Qatar ExxonMobil Open has become a cornerstone of the early-season ATP calendar, blending world-class tennis with Gulf hospitality and cutting-edge facilities. Staged at the impressive Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex, the tournament has built a reputation for attracting elite fields.

Set against the futuristic skyline of Doha, the Qatar ExxonMobil Open combines sporting excellence with the ambition of a nation that has rapidly established itself as a global host of major events.

Doha, Qatar

Doha is the capital of Qatar with a population of 1.35million. The city is located on the coast of the Persian Gulf. Once a British protectorate, it was known for its pearl trade and is now sustained by its oil wealth.

Ringing its downtown waterfront are numerous parks and the Corniche Promenade. On a man-made island, the I.M. Pei–designed Museum of Islamic Art houses an extensive collection from across the Muslim world. At Souq Waqif, a traditional market, vendors offer goods like clothing, crafts and spices.

Practise vid of Sinner hitting with Arthur Fils. I like Fils - let's see what he can do if he keeps injury-free for a stretch.

Just finished watching Carlos beat Royer ( cannot say Royer with a straight face :lol6:) . Royer was up a break in the second set but Carlos found a ridiculous gear and closed it out. It must feel so great to know that it is always on your racket...

Royar was just redlining early in the 2nd set, could not keep that type of play up, especially against Carlos who just raised his level when needed

The match that really surprised me was Tits taking out Meddy in straight sets 63 64, Stefs first win over Meddy since 2022, Meddy had a H2H 10-5 over Stef until today

His level was amazing. If only he could keep it up.
Yes the level was amazing, still I waited for Carlos to 'step up' thats the difference in the Top Players they always have another gear to go to if needed

Loved this exchange at the net,

Royer " I'll come to you and Jannik, don't worry, some day" laughing
Carlos " I will wait for you man" laughing.

Yesterday at the net, Rinderknech said to Alcaraz, "Maybe one of these days you'll let me win."
