The initial announcement of Xbox One was so much of a train-wreck that despite the backtracking by Microsoft, I'm all but certain to get the PS4.

Yes, they messed up big time with the original announcements about game licensing.

I'll probably get one or the other. Not decided yet.

I've missed a few years out mate, I stopped gaming much after the original XBox where I used to play the Halo Series, Rainbow 6 Series, Splinter Cell, Project Gotham Racing, Ghost Recon, Grand Theft Auto. Got bogged down with work and kids!

My son has a 360 and I had a couple of goes on Gears of War and Call of Duty, but not too much beyond that.

Played an ancient PC Game - Command & Conquer Red Alert 2 for a couple of years on and off, online but haven't played anything much for the last 2 or 3 years.

What about you?

PS2: I loved Metal Gear Solid 2 (very smart game IMO), Star Wars Battlefront 2, Grand Theft Auto Vice City.

I will probably go PS4 as I have never bought an xbox product and am committed to a lot PS exclusive games like the Killzones and Uncharteds.

My favorite game of this past generation of consoles: Bioshock, but that is on all systems. I also really liked Red Dead Redemption and Borderlands a lot. I also really loved TopSpin 4. This is the only tennis game I have played where understanding spin and real tennis strategy mattered.

Top Spin 4 is pretty much the only tennis game that's a true tennis simulator. I enjoy that game tremendously.

My favorite game of all time is Red Dead Redemption, being a fan of both open world games and westerns. Incredible story, awesome gameplay.

I love the Uncharted Series too, as well as the Assassin's Creed series. Video gaming really has evolved into something quite breathtaking when done right. Not a huge fan of science fiction but both the Half-Life and Mass Effect series were amazing.

Back in the PC days, I always enjoyed Red Alert 2, as britbox mentioned above, as well as fantasy strategy games like Heroes: Of Might and Magic.
