Well, well, well ... when I was telling you, Mastoor was this and Mastoor was that, but now when the world knows at least some part of the truth, I had to come back and say - I told ya so!

Verdasco blew the whistle, uncle Toni had to confirm - Rafa dopes.

Are you serious? Why don't you give us the source of your information, a link perhaps
or the news paper from which you learnt it.

Mastoor, provide a link, or I'm going to delete this thread for trolling. I've searched google.com, and google Spain, France and Argentina, with no results at all, not even a sketchy blog post. If you're going to make slanderous claims, then you need to provide citation.

Oh, and welcome back. As predicted. Djokovic wins and you reappear.

Are you referring to the following article.

It clearly says it (PRP therapy) is legal.

Ok, I had one more reason to come back, I didn't know where else I have to congratulate Spanish doctors on their triumph. ;)

Yes, that's the one that GSM's article references. Read more carefully. Apparently Verdasco was saying that he and Nadal used the same blood plasma therapies, which was once banned but is now allowed. I'll see you a knee therapy, and raise you a PED-egg, which is also not banned, but considered "not in the spirit of the sport."

You come back after two months and bring this, Mastoor? I would have thought this kind of trolling was beneath you.

Again, not a close reading of your own reference material. You make a snide implication about Spanish doctors, but the article mentions that athletes such as Tiger Woods use the treatment. Which I'm pretty sure Tiger doesn't go to Spain for. We'll be happy to have you back for conversation, but not irresponsible mud-slinging.

Yes, sure, he admitted that they both doped which is something everyone among you guys denied. Are you telling me that his is not new for you?

I don't get it. What does Tiger have to do with atp #1? Not him, no Lance Armstrong, no one in history of all the sports had such brilliant comeback or recovery if you like.

I mean to win 10 out of 13 tournaments after 7 months of injury or was it silent ban or whatever, even if the most titles were won against lower ranked players, to beat the best tennis player in the world 3 out of 5 times and to get back to #1 this quickly - that is simply NOT believable. So, who to congratulate on this, certainly not Kieran this time around but hose people who made it possible - Spanish doctors.

Again...the treatment they use is allowed by WADA, and according to the article that you yourself use as citation. Calling doping in direct contradiction to your own source is trolling, Mastoor, and you must stop. You've already made a thread topic that is misleading, which is bad enough.

It is doping even if it was allowed by wada. How would you call it "doping that was legalised so it is no doping anymore but something else"?

RE: The Doped One (I told ya so)

Some of you may have failed to read the second page in the "Scientific American"
article on PRP. Hence, I am posting, one question and answer from that page,
that is relevant.

Why is PRP not restricted for athletes in a way that human growth hormone (HGH) is?

Athletes use HGH as a performance enhancer even though there's no good evidence that it does anything to enhance performance or improve strength or endurance, etcetera. And there's nothing that says that HGH enhances healing. Now PRP is certainly not in any way a performance enhancer. It's more about enhancing the body's own healing response. Someone who's had PRP therapy is not at some kind of competitive advantage over someone who hasn't had it. The platelets secrete completely different growth factors than HGH.

Very informative article, GSM. I extracted this pertinent quote:

GSM, we posted at the same time, and found the same germane quote.

RE: The Doped One (I told ya so)

Illegal Doping is pretty much everything banned by WADA, so if they allow it then it's not doping. There isn't anything stopping a player taking shots of B12, Iron injections or other "supplements" that are not banned.

The main concern I'd have with PRP is that you would wonder if it could be used as a cover for athletes having blood transfusions on a much bigger scale.

The way they have generally caught the blood dopers is from Plasticisers in the blood - Plasticisers being traces from the IV bags the blood is stored in. If an athlete flunking a test says they are having PRP treatment then is this become a potential Get out of Jail card?
