  • If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to? If I'm staying awhile (and you guarantee my safety) I go to 48 BC when Caesar crosses the Rubicom otherwise 44 BC when he is assassinated.
  • What is one thing you will never do again? Never did many hard drugs but the night I took ecstasy was particularly expensive.
  • If you were to add a question to this list, what would it be? (Please add, and answer.): If you had one wish what would it be? That happiness was a button that could be pushed at any time.
  • If you had another life what would you like to be? Professional athlete aside from football or a sports broadcaster. I pass the baton to @britbox

Oh Gawd, why drag me into this? Been content enough and been exposed to too many opportunities without musing about alternatives!

1) I actually considered moving to Europe for good on 2 occasions and now rue the day I didn't leave! I looked at Amsterdam for some strange reason  back in '01! I've always been lucky to miss catastrophe's like floods and earthquakes when I come and go! I could have avoided 911 if not for waiting a few months too long to decide! Even found a quaint little town very reminiscent of a Chicago suburb just 30 min. outside of the city called Haarlem! I would have missed out on Obama's election, but I'd be able to stick my finger out and laugh when Trump was elected!

2) Lived up high most of my life, usually around the 3rd floor, but other apt. have been on 8, 12, 13, 20, & 49! I'm fine on secure ground, but I have a problem with heights when on something like a fire escape and won't have someone near me leaning out of a window or on a balcony! So plummeting from a great height is common I guess! Drowning is right up there though! :cuckoo:

3) A favorite book to read? How many re-read a book? I have my favorites of course which I recommend, but can't relate to having a "fave to read!"

4) I love "12 Angry Men," but will go with "The Ten Commandments" from '56 with Heston & Brynner

5) Nothing much situationally! Some TV shows and movies do it for me, but memories tell me anything with the Marx Brothers will have me ROFLOL! :lulz1:

6) Tennis has always been my favorite sport to watch on TV! Back during the tennis boom of the mid 70's, it wasn't unusual to have 3 matches on at the same time on the networks on the weekends! Once BJK was not only playing live on CBS, on ABC they were telecasting the WTC exhibition tourney with 4 men/women competing for top prize! It had been taped from the previous FALL and then stretched out over a span of 11-12 weeks the following year! All the top players participated; Borg, Evert, Laver, Goolagong, Nastase, Wade, ….etc. Of course I played tennis almost every day starting at 14 and kept at it until my 40's! Taught it while in college! Outside of tennis, I love American football! :dance2:

7) "Blue Lagoon" is where my mind wanders going back to my childhood! You couldn't do better than Christopher Atkins then or now! Willie Ames in "Paradise" would do in a pinch though!

8) With the state of affairs, I'd have to keep it within 60 years and to stay North if here in the States for obvious reasons! (Will have to think on it more)

9) Been lucky so far and can't think of much outside of just not wanting to do something! (W/B back)

10) Porsche, but been a consumer of American cars all my life!

11) Another life? (W/B back)

(@Gamesetmath can take a turn I guess)

  1. If you could live anywhere, where would it be? The Maldives or Phi Phi Island, Thailand
  2. What is your biggest fear? Being alone. Yeah, sometimes being single is great but then I likely wouldn't have my little 3 year old boy Kai who I love to bits.
  3. What is your favorite book to read? I actually don't like reading. More a visual person.
  4. What is your favorite movie? Airplane! (1980) maybe or The Naked Gun trilogy. I like many genres but I laugh myself silly at Leslie Nielsen. For non comedies, I guess any number of Clint Eastwood movies (too many good ones to pin it down to a few). The Hitcher (1986) with Rutger Hauer who died recently and is I guess most remembered by many for Bladerunner is one I liked a lot years ago. I liked Nostradamus (1994) and True Romance (1993) a lot too.
  5. What makes you laugh the most? Social media. It's such an important part of our lives but it's also hilarious. Girls taking belfies (that's not a typo - Google belfie) and all these silly guys uploading pictures of themselves flexing. Neither the guys or the girls look anything like their stupid fake and filtered/photoshopped photos in real life.
  6. What is your favorite game or sport to watch and play? Tennis
  7. Who would you want to be stranded with on a deserted island? Raquel Welsh circa 1966 from One Million Years B.C or Caroline Munro circa 1973 from The golden voyage of Sinbad (1973). They both have lovely personalities. 2 of them!
  8. If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to? Maybe back to when I was 12 when my dad died and fix things so he was still alive now
  9. What is one thing you will never do again? Drink too much that I don't remember anything after a certain hour and then spend the next day in bed!
  10. If you were to add a question to this list, what would it be? (Please add, and answer.) Favourite band ? Hard to narrow it down but probably Paradise Lost and Frontline Assembly and, yes, clearly I like Front 242 a lot also.
  11. If you had another life what would you like to be? Rich :) Let's keep things simple here lol :)
I nominate @Moxie next.

  1. If you could live anywhere, where would it be? I love cities. I love living in NYC. I'd live in Madrid or Rome again. Or Barcelona. Or I'd live on a beach: St. Barth's or Formentera.
  2. What is your biggest fear? It's not heights, but it's those places where you can see the great chasm below. I can't walk on grates, and I'd never cross one of those glass bridges over huge cavern. Or where you're walking along a precipice so narrow that you could fall over.
  3. What is your favorite book to read? If I had only one with me, Pride and Prejudice or Don Quijote.
  4. What is your favorite movie? The Godfather, and 8 1/2. (There are loads I'd watch again and again. Jaws gets honorable mention. Mr. Hulot's Holiday. Overboard. The Matrix.)
  5. What makes you laugh the most? Low-brow jokes. I like clever, but there is nothing like a fart joke, or the ones that your family repeats over and over again. My 97-year-old aunt told a scatological joke this weekend, completely appropriate to the conversation, and we were peeing ourselves with laughter. (Pun intended.)
  6. What is your favorite game or sport to watch and play? Tennis
  7. Who would you want to be stranded with on a deserted island? George Clooney, with him being into me.
  8. If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to? Venice in the 16th C., if I could be one of the many women who wrote. Prefer not to be in a convent...a courtesan would be a better option.
  9. What is one thing you will never do again? Bungee jumping. Once was a thrill...and enough. Or LSD...same reason, though with more paranoia.
  10. Favourite band: Has to be The Beatles, but I'd add The Police, U2 and Talking Heads.
  11. If you had another life what would you like to be? A painter.
  12. If you were to add a question to this list, what would it be? (Please add, and answer.) Favorite song: Layla
I nomimate @tented next.

  1. If you could live anywhere, where would it be? New York City.
  2. What is your biggest fear? Medium-size heights — I’m OK with being on a ladder or the top floor of a skyscraper, but in between, such as the roof of a house, bothers me.
  3. What is your favorite book to read? For fun: Interview with the Vampire; greatest novel: Anna Karenina.
  4. What is your favorite movie? It’s a tie: 8 1/2 and Persona.
  5. What makes you laugh the most? I don’t think I’ve ever laughed harder than while watching Young Frankenstein. Also, YouTube videos of people getting hurt.
  6. What is your favorite game or sport to watch and play? Tennis.
  7. Who would you want to be stranded with on a deserted island? Fernando Gonzalez. Or a Dr. No-era Sean Connery.
  8. If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to? c. 2500 BC to see how the Great Pyramid was built. Or Wimbledon, 2008, to see the final live.
  9. What is one thing you will never do again? Ties in with my fear of heights: go on one of those really tall water slides. Did it once, and was convinced I was going to hydroplane right off it.
  10. Favourite band: The Beatles. But also a huge Bob Dylan fan.
  11. If you had another life what would you like to be? Novelist.
  12. If you were to add a question to this list, what would it be? (Please add, and answer.) Favorite point:

That did make me laugh out loud Tented.

Heights have a strange effect on humans! I don't heights so much as long as I feel I'm on a solid footing. I was a rollercoaster nerd when I was a kid and used to get more worked up about walking up the steps to get on rides that started in the clouds over the actual ride itself. I hate those steps that have a gap you can see through.

  1. If you could live anywhere, where would it be? Bora Bora.
  2. What is your biggest fear? Aside from tragedies/illness/severe injuries, cause all of those seem kind of obvious, heights and heartbreaks.
  3. What is your favorite book to read? 1984.
  4. What is your favorite movie? The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Many others to choose from but this will always be my undisputed #1.
  5. What makes you laugh the most? Really good sarcasm/ribbing.
  6. What is your favorite game or sport to watch and play? Game: chess. Sport: football (soccer).
  7. Who would you want to be stranded with on a deserted island? Margot Robbie.
  8. If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to? When Jesus was born, to see if any of that stuff is real. On a different note, 13 years ago...the day Chelsea played Barcelona the Camp Nou on November 1, 2006. My best friend gave me a call before the match asking me if he could come over to watch the game. I didn't feel like having people over so I made up an excuse. He overdosed on heroin a couple of hours later that night and passed away. The final score was 2-2 by the way, if anyone cares.
  9. What is one thing you will never do again? Cheat on a partner.
  10. If you were to add a question to this list, what would it be? What is the riskiest thing you've ever done? My answer: take a huge risk at a job interview, which paid off (the details would require a much longer answer). Alternatively, scuba diving with sharks, which I've done dozens of times.

Meantime, I'll reply to @brokenshoelace's added question, if no one minds. Riskiest thing: Back in our salad days, a friend of mine and I once hitched a ride with a truck driver in Spain, Cadiz to Madrid, after we'd just gotten off the ferry from Morocco. Turns out, he was a creep and we ditched him at a truck stop about half-way, at like 2am. I, especially, had all the hubris of a youngster, thinking I could handle anything. That was dumb. Luckily, nothing really bad happened, but it was a rude awakening.
