Are you affiliated with a political party Dem, GOP, socialist, green, libertarian, or constitutional, and why did you choose it or why have you chosen to remain independent of party identity?

I'm not an American, but I'm not one for political parties, preferring to follow the beat of my own drum.

I realized this problem. It is so hard to translate the party ideologies past international borders. What I know about other party politics fits neatly under my fingernail but I went for it anyway!

I'd say there were some parallels between ideologies of parties across the western world..

i.e. Democrat (US) would be closer to Labour (UK) and Labor (Australia)

whereas:

Republican (US) would be close to Conservative (UK) and Liberal National (Australia).

Ideology doesn't tend to match what any of these guys do when they are in power. You can usually split them by a piece of paper by what they do in practice.
