It's a bit late to make this thread, and I won't go with all the formalities, but it seems worth a place to talk about this last MS of the year, and not just on ATP general news.

A recap of today:

Rublev lost to Fritz. Who said Rublev was over-playing at this point? Basically everyone?

FAA lost to LL Koepfer. Koepfer is a solid guy, but bad loss for Felix. (Felix got seen by the trainer for his right arm.)

Cilic went down to Korda in straights.

Tsitsipas quit after 6 games v. Popyrin with an achy right arm, seemed around the elbow region.

A bit of the usual limping to the finish line in Bercy.

Djokovic looked rather mediocre in his win yesterday over Fucsovic.

Anyone watching this one?

Korda gave Medvedev some trouble. And this Alcaraz/Gaston one is very entertaining.

In fairness, the Spaniard was playing a Frenchman. Come on. Gaston pulled one out of his hat.

Gaston took advantage after Carlos winning the second set 5-1 and then he started to make many mistakes but he is still 18 years old and I hope he will learn to be "deaf" in front of that kind of crowd like Nadal did for many years, but....Nadal is Nadal

I sure wish he would have decided he couldn't play when he was beating Mannarino, I thought he called for the trainer and was less then 100 percent, at least at that time. He comes back, wins the match in three sets, and then defaults within hours to Novak. I know it is all about ranking points and prize money, but I have a feeling he knew he was not 100 percent and more then likely just wanted to get the win and take the check. I know it sounds catty on my part but I am an AM fan so I was hoping for him to get the win and progress in the tournament.

Hats off to Hugo Gaston for giving it a 100 percent and having an incredible tournament. Though I know the partisan crowd played a part I think Gaston has a very promising career in front of him.

Djokovic v Hurkacz
Zverev v Medvedev

Obviously, the match to watch tomorrow is Zverev v Medvedev, though HH is tricky but I don't think he'll bring the upset. A set? We'll see. On form and H2H, the eight ball says Zverev. Let's see if Meddie is motivated.

Wow, an Adrian Mannarino fan! Excellent addition. I know it's aggravating when a player squeaks through over a favorite, then can't play the next round.

Djokovic v. Medvedev final it is, then. Novak clinched YE#1 with his win today. I only watched a bit of Med. d. Zverev, but Sasha got a fair hiding today. Anyone know why?

I also only watched a bit of Sasha v Med as I was watching BJK Cup final, for starters Sasha's serve went AWOL and his UFE were terrible,Med really gave him a tennis clinic and kept his UFE low.

Novak not only clinched YE#1, but did so for a record SEVENTH time--breaking Sampras' record of six. Roger & Rafa each did it 5X.

Yep, meanwhile Roger & Rafa not playing for months, also Wawrinka, Thiem, Murray (who we know he is not the same player than before his surgeries) Delpo and Tsonga, and the young generation very unstable, in one word a very easy year for Novak for those records

Oh, come on: Wawrinka, Murray, delPo and Tsonga? They haven't really featured or threatened for some time. You could blame Thiem, though he was injured, but is what Novak did this year "easy?" He still had to do it. You can say that when Roger and Rafa weren't there to provide a bulwark, it's not like the youngsters put up that much of an effort, though.
