The WTA's Lyon Open (currently sponsored by 6ème Sens) is a tournament for female professional tennis players that is to be held annually in the first week of March beginning the 2020 season. It will be categorized as an International-level tournament and will be a part of the WTA Tour. The tournament will be played on indoor hard courts.
About Lyon:
Lyon or Lyons is the third-largest city and second-largest urban area of France. It is located in the country's east-central part at the confluence of the rivers Rhône and Saône, about 470 km (292 mi) south of Paris, 320 km (199 mi) north of Marseille and 56 km (35 mi) northeast of Saint-Étienne. Inhabitants of the city are called Lyonnais.
Lyon had a population of 513,275 in 2015. It is the capital of the Metropolis of Lyon and the region of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. The Lyon metropolitan area had a population of 2,265,375 in 2014.
