Jack Sock seeded #14 was upset on the opening day by an unknown Japanese Guy.

In the Doubles event, Leander Peas and Rohan Bopanna lost to Polish Guys (not sure whether this is an upset technically, as both are unseeded teams, but I think the Indian team is considerably strong at least on paper).

JMDP holding steady - on serve in second set. 4-3 with Nole to serve.

JMDP's forehand is clicking big time. Backhand not so much - mostly slices and running around forehand only.

It is 5-4 now, on serve. Nole has a must win service game now to stay in the match.

Nole holds. But, each one of his last three holds was a struggle. It is 5-5.

JMDP up 3-0 in TB. double minibreak up, both by beautiful passing shots.

Finally, Novak wins a pt. It is 5-1 at changeover.

Sorry , I might be a bit ahead ;)
I am watching both guys in tears...Novak crying on his way out, Delpo tears of joy.

Yep, my stream seems to be bit behind. I just now saw the "double cry".

But, JMDP really played well. He had more winners than Nole and also had less UFE than Nole.

However, just like in Wimbledon, JMDP may have trouble sustaining it and win a medal though.

Wow. Novak knows that was probably his last really good chance. He might still be around in 4 years, but he'll be 33 and the young guns will be in peak form.
