I really really really am enjoying seeing Petko back in form. She just won a 100k Challenger the week before this tournament. I hope she can find a way to beat JJ. It looks like JJ has her confidence back after Roland Garros. Nice to see her playing up to her potential again.

Forgot this was a clay court event. On serve in the 1st set 4-3 Petko

EDIT: Petko comes through in straights dismissing JJ the #1 seed. Congrats. Great win for her. Nice exchange at the net. JJ is really happy Petko is back and playing well again.

Petko is just a ballbasher who talks a lot but doesnt have the chops to back it up,remember 2009 she said all the players from the past generation will be gone in two years ...2011.She went on to have to have a slump and Schiavone,Na li,Stosur and Serena went on to win slams and gold medals...hopeful she keeps her mouth in check and just play tennis.
She did a dance after beating pova...brought bad karma on herself,hopefully she learned her lesson and just focus on winning and not trying too hard to be the most popular girl on tour.

Congrats to your 2013 champion Simone Halep who defeated Petkovic in straight sets. This is Simone's first career title.

I noticed that, and I agree. It's impossible even to google with such a vague reference.

@tossip: You do this rather a lot...referencing past comments by players with no citation. You seem to keep a catalogue of perceived slights in your memory, but the rest of us don't. Without a credible link to such quotes, we're not required to believe they exist.

it was an on court interview after beating Mattek at USA Open..was just like wow this girl talks a lot...if I get the video clip I will attach it...
