Hi,
I work for BBC Radio Nottingham and just want to let you know that we are providing commentary on the Aegon Open in Nottingham on the BBC Sport website next week. Tsonga withdraws from Nottingham, making it a hattrick of withdrawals. He appears to be in doubt for Wimby as well.

As expected, there is no star power in this tourney. Only one from top 10 and only 4 from top 20.
The top 4 seeds are Ferrer, Simon, Deliciano and Goffin (who is ranked 20). Kyrgios is there after early loss to Stan at Queens.

I am thinking Deliciano or Kyrgios wins it.

This is a 48 player event as there is only one event in this week. The top 16 get a bye in the first round. Here is the draw

This tourney has a 32 player qualifying draw and one needs to win three matches in a row to become one of the four qualifiers.

A British guy, by name Liam Broady, played in the first round of qualifying today and lost in straight sets. This guy was given a wild card into Wimbledon in the first batch itself.:cover

Kyrgios withdrew at the last moment form Nottingham. He claims injury for official purposes, but actually he says he wants to chill off before The Championship.

Kyrgios will get to play against one lucky top 8 player in 3rd round.

Maybe Baghdatis has not been a superb player but nobody can't say he wasn't good, even now he still has very good serve and shots. But anyway I'm surprised with that result though not too many results surprise me anymore in these days :huh: :nono

Deliciano lately is not in good form, he is losing to all kind of random players ranked well below him.
He may have finally peaked but he did it at 33 which is truly remarkable.

Looks like this Nottingham tourney is very boring. The only thing the extended grass season provided was a week of rest and practice for players. It seems like the grass season is still only two weeks long, but moved a week before.
