Dallas Open

The Dallas Open brings fast, no-nonsense indoor tennis back to one of the United States’ great historic tennis cities. Played on indoor hard courts, the tournament has quickly established itself as a key stop on the early-season North American calendar, rewarding big servers, aggressive returners, and players comfortable taking the ball early.

The Dallas Open is staged at the striking Ford Center at The Star, a venue that perfectly suits the tournament’s fast, modern identity. Located in Frisco, just north of Dallas, the Ford Center is part of The Star — the Dallas Cowboys’ world-renowned headquarters and training complex.

Originally designed as a state-of-the-art indoor football venue and multi-use arena, the Ford Center is transformed each February into an elite indoor tennis stadium.

About Dallas

Bold, expansive, and unmistakably Texan, Dallas is a city built on ambition. Rising from the wide plains of North Texas, it has grown into one of the United States' most dynamic metropolitan centres — a place where business, sport, culture, and confidence intersect at scale.

Long known as a commercial and financial powerhouse, Dallas has steadily reshaped its identity beyond the boardroom. Today it boasts one of the largest urban arts districts in the country, vibrant neighbourhoods like Deep Ellum and Bishop Arts, and a skyline that reflects decades of growth and reinvention. The city moves fast, thinks big, and rarely does anything by halves.

Sport is woven deeply into Dallas life. From packed stadiums to community courts, competition matters here — and that mindset translates naturally to tennis. Fans appreciate attacking play, momentum swings, and players willing to take risks, mirroring the city’s own forward-leaning character.

I am surprised that Fritz is playing, he is still suffering from knee tendinitis and had his obliques heavily strapped in his match at the AO against Musetti, who defeated him in straight sets at the AO 62 75 64, you would think he would have missed Dallas and concentrate on getting healthy

we've discussed this. he's a blockhead. he thinks he can play through this stuff and it will heal on its own.

yeah, I saw the 2nd set. Tien was pretty poor compared to his standards. Poor returns, mediocre serving and cough drop was in the zone.

I dont know what the problem is with Flavio Cobolli, (20) I know he was sick at the AO this year
Flavio has lost his last 4 matches and his last 9 sets
World No 181 Pinnigton Jones easily defeats him 62 62

Fritz aka Blockhead as Keli nick names him had the physio out for his knee just 5 games in?
Fritz wins the 1st set 64 over fellow American Giron
Giron wins the 2nd set 75 going 3, both had a toilet break
Fritz won the 3rd set TB with ease, he was serving well in the match that kind of saved him, didnt have to get into long rallies and the court was playing fast
Fritz d Giron 64 57 76(1) Fritz with 21 aces in the match

Looks like Fritz picked up an forearm/elbow injury/pain called for the physio serving at 4-5, 4-0-30 as he felt something after the serve
All he needs is another injury
Korda won the 1st set 76(2) and Fritz rebounded winning the 2nd set 64
On serve in the 3rd set 3 all
Fritz 1st serve has really helped him in this match a easy love service game with his 21st Ace! he leads 5-4
Korda will serve at 5-6 to force a TB in the 3rd set, Korda with a love service game, 6 games all TB for the 3rd set and for the match and a place in the SFs
Korda with a mini break leads 3-0 good return on Fritz 2nd serve
Korda maintaining the break leads 5-2
Korda to serve 5-4 with the match on his racquet
Fritz with a good return and 1st serve snatches the match from Korda in the TB 76(5)
Fritz d Korda 67(2) 64 76(5) and is into the SFs,

Oh, man, Korda was so close! Tight contest. Good to see him playing so well, anyway.

Fritz who has bad knee, suspect abs and elbow pain wins the 1st set 63 over Shelton
Strike me Dead,
Shelton breaks, he returned the 2nd serve of Fritz and will now serve to win the 2nd set 5-3
Going 3, Shelton wins the 2nd set 63
Poor service game from Fritz and Shelton breaks at 6-5 and will serve for the match, Fritz had 3 MPs previously on Sheltons service game but could not convert.
On his 3rd MP Shelton d Fritz 36 63 75 to win the Dallas Open final. Sheltons 4th career title.

I really only focused from late in the 2nd, but that 3rd set was a cracker! Good on Shelton for that win.
