In the quarterfinals, Karlovic plays Isner. If Isner gets to the final, there's the possibility he'll play Mahut.

Today is the Isner/Karlovic match. I don't know about you, but I would have a hard time coming up with a pair I would like to see play less than these two. It's nothing personal, and I'm very happy Karlovic is healthy again, but the idea of watching them play each other is right up there with watching paint dry.

They should just skip right to the tiebreaks, too. You know they're coming. Now that I think about it, their "match" should be the best of three tiebreaks.

Hewitt continues to prove he's still got grass-chops, I guess, and tented, you were all too right about Isner/Karlovic. :clap

I guess they got rained out today. They're going to play the semis (simultaneously) starting at 10am EDT, followed by the final. Hewitt's got Isner, and Mahut plays Russell.

I really have to root for Hewitt, too. Of all he has the purest grass game. And he is the guy who keeps coming back, just when you think he must be done. I don't like him, for many reasons, but I do have to give him credit for cussedness.

Hewitt comes through in 3 sets over John avenging last year's loss in the F. Mahut and Hewitt will be playing the final in about 5 minutes after Rusty got a 90 min rest after SF.

Now I'm switching loyalties to Mahut. Going for his 2nd title.

On serve 5-5 in the first set.

Hewitt's break conversion rate this tournament is off the chains. He is breaking at 50% against some really big servers on grass. Just like that he breaks for 6-5 and holds to take the opening set 7-5.

Rusty gets tight serving for the match and is broken at 5-4. He drops the next 2 games and the set as well 7-5. On serve in the decider 1-1

A somewhat surprising turn of events. He was NOT HAPPY at the end of the second set.

Yep. Very testy indeed. He rights the ship early on, holding and getting the early break 3-1. We'll see if he seizes up again toward the end of the match.
