The Tournament:
The Memphis Open relocates to Long Island in 2018, ensuring the continuation of one of the ATP World Tour’s longest-running tournaments in the United States. The New York Open, an ATP World Tour 250 event, will be held from 12-18 February 2018 at NYCB LIVE, home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

The Players:

Committed are: Querrey, Anderson, Isner, Nishikori, Harrison, The Bryans, Mannarino, Steve Johnson, Frances Tiafoe, Ivo Karlovic and Jeremy Chardy, amongst others.

About Long Island:

Long Island is many things. Its history goes way back to colonial and shipping days. It has always been farm country, wine country, the sleepy suburbs, and the getaway from the city for the rich and famous. The new tournament is essentially equidistant from the BJK tennis center (home of the USOpen) to the east, as Manhattan is to the west, firmly located in the suburbs, but convenient to Manhattan via the Long Island Railroad.

I predict an Anderson/Youzhny final.
And what's the deal with the Harrison/Young drama? They don't seem to like each other.
If that should happen, who would you root for?

Young says Harrison used racial language in their mid-match fight. ATP is investigating.

I'd most likely root for Youzhny to win...and I heard that Harrison, of course, denied the charge.
Sorry that Dr. Youzhny is out, but good win for Tiafoe. And your man Anderson is still in.

Thanks! Anderson was fortunate to win and Youzhny is looking absolutely horrible these days! I saw only snippets of the Tiafoe match. Of what I saw, he was hammering the ball off both wings. Seems like a high energy guy who is fun to watch.

Typical slow start from Nishikori. Lost the first set 1-6 to Anderson.

Anderson outlasts Nishikori in a third set tiebreak. Querrey vs. Anderson in tomorrows final.

Well, I know who you'll be rooting for. As your pal, I'll be hoping for Anderson, too. He was just in the USO final...he should be favored.
