There are two reason I am posting here.

1. I did not want this thread to die with just one post from Sid. :snicker

2. The schedule that you gave gives absolutely no new information. It basically lists all the Master's tourneys and Queens, which we all know he will play in. Surely, he will play some extra tournaments, perhaps to be decided later, primarily after USO.

Not a given this early in the year. He's number 8 in the race to London.

Uh-oh. Andy is doing everything possible to relinquish his #1 ranking. On one hand it is really a bad start to the year for Andy, but on the other hand he's got, what, 45 points to defend in Miami? Not a big deal, but the bigger concern is the injury itself.

according to Jamie, it's an elbow tear, he can't serve, he had to rest and won't play DC tie vs France, don't know when he'll be back, soon hopefully

He's got serious points to defend in the clay swing. SF at MC, F at Madrid, W at Rome, F at RG for a total of 3,160 between those four tournaments.

Djokovic is still defending more (3,610) through there, but what I think that means is a chance for resurgent Rafa (defending only 1,630 at those four tournaments, 2,130 including W at Barcelona last year) and fearless Fed (defending 270) to catch up in the rankings and make the race for YE#1 interesting.

An elbow tear doesn't sound good. That said, the next big tournament - Monte Carlo - isn't for another three weeks. He loses 360 points if he can't play, but that's not a huge deal. It would be another three weeks before Madrid, so theoretically he could have six more weeks off and only lose 360 points.

I think if you're an Andy fan, you hope he plays it safe.
