Mixed Doubles - Wimbledon 2016

The mixed doubles draw is out. Unlike in other GSs, in Wimbledon Mixed Doubles consist of 48 pairs with the top 16 pairs getting a bye in the first round.

Here are some interesting pairs.

1. Sania Mirza and Dodig - #1 seed
2. Vesnina and Soares - #2 seed
3. Coco and Tecau - #3 seed
4. Martina and Leander - #16 seed
5. Lucie Saffarova and Radek Stepanek - unseeded
6. Laura Robson and Dominic Inglot - unseeded

Mirza and Dodig taken out by an unknown British pair in the second round.

Leander Peas and Martina Hingis are taken out of MD in three sets.

They were ousted by Heather Watson and Kontinen who luckily got a walkover in both the first and second rounds and played their first match together.

Heather & Co has won one more match and they are now in SF. May be, she will win this event with some crowd support.

Henri and Heather won the first set of the finals in a TB. :clap

After going up 5-0, they gave it up to 5-5 and then won it 7-5.

Second set is on serve so far. There is no super tie-breaker in Wimbledon in mixed doubles.

Heather and Henri played only 4 matches to win this title. They got a walkover two times.

Henri is the first ever Finnish GS winner.

This is the first time, they two played together.

I am glad Heather won something, after giving tough time to Serena last year. :celeb:
