While the Men's doubles fizzled out this year, the Women's doubles held up with
top seeds making it to finals. The mixed doubles also has an interesting final.

Sania Mriza and Horia Tecau Versus Kristina Mladenovic and Daniel Nestor

Who is your pick?

Sania has won two mixed doubles titles before, but not with Horia.

Kristina and Daniel together have won one mixed doubles last year.
Moreover they have been playing together continuously for quite some time now.
This is rare in mixed doubles, where the pairings are usually ad hoc.

Needless to say that Daniel Nestor is 80 years old and has more than
a dozen Grand Slam doubles titles to his credit. He has won all kinds of GS
doubles titles that are there for the taking.

Remember that this is mixed doubles. So, they play two sets and
if each team takes one set, they play a match tie breaker (first one
to get 10 points or more with a difference of two or more wins). If it
goes to MTB, it will be a shoot out.

Where Simona plays
I picked Tecau for obvious geographic reasons :D
I cant really take mixed doubles seriously but this time I have a limited "ethnic" reason

Btw, its strange how the spelling is different from the accurate pronunciation.
It should be spelled in English this way: "Tucough" ! - The "gh" letters ignored and not said.

Well Nestor is one of my favourite doubles players ever.
So I have to go with Daniel and Christina plus the fact they have won a mixed doubles tournament last year and I think that expierence will be a telling factor in this final

^Good scouting report, fashionista. And I like Daniel Nestor, too. Great doubles player. I'll go with them.

Can't not go with the Master of doubles, Daniel Nestor and Kristina has been great in women's doubles too. Nestor missed out in men's doubles but this Order of Canada veteran, could just add another trophy to his illustrious collection. Go Daniel Go!

I pick Sania and Horia. But, I think it will take a Match Tie Breaker. While I voting, I
clicked the wrong button and hence accidentally said they will win in two sets.

Congratulations to Kristina and Daniel.

Kristina is clearly the MVP of this match. Her down the line winners were
amazing and she never lost serve to boot.

It is interesting to note that Kristina's age is half of Nestor's. Kristina is 21 and
Nestor is 42. Nestor has won titles for 21 years in a row. Most probably
Kristina was not even born when Nestor won his first title.

It is amazing that such an young and upcoming player chooses to play
MD and WD. She has already won 5 titles in WD.

It would be a good idea to ditch MD etc., once she makes it into top 20 in singles.
She surely has a great future and lots more to come out of her.
