Juan Martin Del Potro continued his march in the Singles competition at the Rio Olympics with a hard earned win over
“I’m getting better. I’m in good shape, but I don’t know if I’m prepared to play six or more matches,†said Del Potro said the match.
“This week I’m just going slowly, trying to get better every day.â€
Taro Daniel of Japan added a second scalp to his campaign, taking care of Britain’s Kyle Edmund. He now faces Del Potro.
Another top seed exited the tournament when Jo-Wilfried Tsonga went down in straight sets to Gilles Muller.
In the late match, Kei Nishikori of Japan was made to work hard for his straight sets victory (7-6 6-4) by Australian John Millman.
