Totally did. He's not the one trying to compare men and women. He was precise in his answer during the radio interview, and the presenter decided to create controversy. The only nuance I would add is that if you're going to do a GOAT instead of BOAT discussion then Serena is definitely in the discussion. But still I would weight it more towards the men because of depth and quality. It is just a fact that as with all sports more men see to become pros than women. I think it's changing, but society still causes this to happen

I saw the interview a few weeks ago when it happened and continue to be astounded at why people were so obsessed with something he's said many times before - and is true. They had him on the show to promote his book, so they booked him known that with this controversy swirling they'd get higher ratings - and then turn around and accuse him of having said it just to promote his book? Bunch of hypocrites.

Mac should've been a little more aggressive against those PC feminist nobodies, who think they have the right to tell off someone who was the best of his trade for over 3 years. Those 3 journalists were nothing but clowns who mouth off for a living. Besides, if Serena Williams can't handle the truth, just stay at home......she said it's unproven, of course it is because she would run as far away as possible so she'd never find out some ATP nobodies would make a mince meat of her......thus expose her supposedly 'greatness'.

You can't help but notice when feminists are challenged for facts, they'd run for hills and make any excuses they can find. "oh men are stronger so you can't compare"...blah blah blah, truth is you can compare. You don't get a pass for being weaker, then talk about 'equality'. If they play the same comp, lets talk equality for real. If you whinge about 'weaker', ask Hewitt who had managed to better Safin in both achievements and Head to head, and nobody would argue he was 'stronger' than Safin. Truth is, in tennis physically weaker players CAN win on skills and whatnot, if you are good enough. Also, nobody should get a pass for being weaker, then wants to still be respected for more. This is logically outrageous.

This.

The lady on the right was downright slimy. I don't think she's as stupid as it appears. She couldn't care less about listening to what JMac was saying nor about the fact that he was responding to a pointed question on NPR. She was playing to her audience. Feminist rhetorical tools to whip up female outrage are deceptive and insidious. They provoke deep seated female biological instincts to protect one another against males. Once that happens, facts of the matter be damned. Any unthinking female viewer (and many such male viewers) will come away feeling outraged, vindicated and entertained. She pockets her great ratings.
