My thoughts exactly regarding Maria playing Brisbane this year.I too thought she wouldnt want to face Serena early before the AO.Though Maria has pulled out of Brisbane before when she was going to play.

Am I the only one to see a pattern here? - She won all her slams in even years and she won them in order - Another peculiar thing was that Masha always wore either black or white in the winning finals
What can we expect from Masha in 2014 - A new start @ Wimbledon or will she make a fresh start with some other slam? - Keep your eyes on Masha this year!!!

And why is that rugged?- In spite of everything - all the losses - Masha has never run away from Serena - I'm sure that a match against the best - no matter the outcome - is more inspiring for Masha then a 60, 60 victory against some below top 20 player

Only a person with a loser's mind would speculate that Masha would want to avoid Serena *smiles*

And another point - Winning Brisbane doesn't guarantee the Australian Open title - as last year's result proved - Didn't Masha reached the semis there in spite of Serena's presence? - *winks*
