Re: Maria Kirilenko is the better tennis player - more beautiful and comes across as nicer
Maria Sharapova is the most merited WTA player today except for the sisters Williams - She's won a career grand slam which only a handful of champions has managed to do in the so called open era plus 28 titles - I would call that domination even if Serena Williams has dominated even more
As for a comparison between Maria Kirilenko och Maria Sharapova's beauty - All of you who think that Maria Kirilenko is more attractive - Good for you!! - It's all about your personal taste - It however seems to me that Big Business has chosen and favored Masha year after year and believe you me - those who're head of these companies advertisement departments are clever guys who know how to pick a winner - Also Masha is widely more popular among common people - tennis fans or other wise - No one of the current WTA players even come close to Masha's 11 million "likes" - These are hard facts and it shows that those who're dismissing Masha time after time belong to a small minority who have their own dark reasons to dismiss Masha every chance they get
I like Maria Kirilenko a lot but I wanna point out that Masha in fact overshadows Maria Kirilenko tennis wise (Their H2H 5-2 in Masha's favor) - business wise and popularity wise something which seems difficult for some to accept
Who of the 2 come across as "nicer" - well - Masha has on several occasions explained why she doesn't "mingle" with the other WTA players - She's not like Ms. Sunshine or Kim Clijsters and she's explained that it is a deliberate choice - I'm sure most of her peers at least respect her - When Kim Clisters retired - she hugged Masha very emotionally - Never during her career has Masha been involved in a scandal - neither on or of court - She's always polite on her press conferences even after a humiliating loss - She's also mostly gracious and credits her opponents - either she's won or lost - To me that makes Masha - among a whole lot of other reasons - very likable
As they say - Beauty is in the beholder's eyes
