I am not sure the likes of him will come around anymore. It is so easy to shrug your shoulders and say "Well, this is the law of the land, what can you do?" But it takes a man of amazing character and a huge soul to fight to change the law of the land, get imprisoned for 27 years, and come out of prison and say " Well, let's make thing better for everyone"

Even knowing it was coming, I was brought to tears. A great, great man. How he did what he did, endured all he did, and lived to 95, I don't understand. I can only think it was because we needed him. RIP, Madiba.

Apart from Gandhi, probably the only other leader who led by example.

On a frivolous note, do you know that Federer is considered to be the second most
respected man in the world (after Nelson Mandela) based on a survey taken about
an year ago.

Fed was planning to meet him in person when he goes there for his foundation
work. I think the meeting did not materialize.

Nelson Mandela--a world leader whose impact can truly not be overblown. When you think of the most important political/humanitarian figures of the last century, his name is likely to be mentioned--right up there with Churchill, Hitler, Lenin, Pope John Paul II and FDR (meaning impactful).
