Go Julien. I hope he gets his first tournament win. This is a winnable field for him. Won't be easy though.

Dang, all my peeps are in the top top half.

Hopefully the killer Nikolay shows up this week. Haven't seen that in a while.

Davydenko often does well in Doha. Not too far away. A bit of a late career resurgence would be nice but he said he's content being around top 50 since he doesn't want to put in the effort training anymore so it's not very likely.

Pablo Carreno Busta has a WC here. He's a rising Spaniard we've talked about in the "Who is your next favorite" thread, if anyone gets a chance to check him out.

Hmm, watched this guy play in Portugal and in Morocco. I thought he was pretty good too. He seems to favor clay. Hopefully he can show some HC proficiency this week.

SFs:

Sousa v. Melzer

Benneteau v. Wawrinka

Note that Wawrinka is now within 175 points of tying Tsonga for the #8 spot in the live rankings. If he wins this tournament, he'll be within 15 points.

@Riotbeard: Your guy Benneteau is still in.

Come on Julien. This is probably the best chance he will get at a title. A qualifier in the final!

I really hope Benny can win this. So talented player but without a title. Tomorrow will be a great chance for him, but he needs to keep his head together.

He won't have many more chances at his age for a title!

Oh, dear. I saw just the end of the 2nd set, and Benneteau had at least one championship point on Sousa's serve at 4-5. Then Sousa caught fire. Benneteau will be gutted.

Poor Julian. I hope he gets a title. He has had some good double's wins, but he is too talented to not have bagged at least a 250.
